Tickets are on sale on our website between 1 May and 1 November only (tab The castle / Prepare my visit / or at the top right of the "Buy my ticket" menu).
Reservations are strongly recommended to enable us to welcome you in the best conditions and to guarantee you access to the site on the day, particularly on busy days.
It is therefore important to find out about the programme, timetable and prices before booking.
If you do not have a reservation, there is a ticket office at the entrance to the estate where you can pick up your tickets or complete your order if necessary. This ticket office is open every day you visit the castle!
Campervans may only park in the visitors' car park and must leave the site before 19:00 on each opening day.
However, it is possible to book one or more nights with a motorhome or caravan via our website ("Book a night" button at the top right of the homepage).
This reservation will include exclusive access to a hilly plain at the rear of the castle and access to a water point and our sanitary facilities.
Parking at the castle is free of charge and is included in the price of the entrance ticket.
This car park is only accessible after passing through the castle ticket office at the entrance to the estate.
Picnics are permitted in the grounds of the Château de Vaux and a lawn area with tables and benches is available.
This area is only accessible after visiting the estate's ticket office. It is therefore important to check the opening times and to pay for tickets to visit the estate.
It is therefore important not to plan a picnic on the outskirts of the castle in the meadows or in any other place outside the designated area.
Bicycles are welcome to visit and discover this great natural domain. However, they must be present only during the opening hours of the estate (see this site) and must have an entrance ticket. For security reasons, it is strictly forbidden to enter the estate outside the opening hours and without having first passed through the castle ticket office.
The park will only be accessible via the 2.5 kilometre long access road and under the same conditions (payment required even if you do not visit the castle).
Dogs of all sizes are welcome in the castle. However, they must be kept on a leash and never unleashed during the entire tour. We recommend that you bring small garbage bags to collect any waste your pet may produce on the castle grounds.
Only the cellars and stables of the castle are accessible to dogs (75% of the course). The ground floor of the castle will not be open to pets unless they are carried in a carrier.
The Secrets of Vidocq, a 19th century police investigation, is the ideal activity for a good time with the family and children of all ages. The wooden playground completes this fun and family visit where you will find about twenty games of skill and strategy from the past as well as deckchairs to relax.
This activity and access to the playground are included in the price of the entrance ticket and are explained on arrival.
A scroll and a visitor's guide (paper) will give you all the instructions to enjoy a free and relaxed visit.
The visit lasts an average of 2 hours on site. Count on 1h30 for the Secrets of Vidocq and 30 minutes for the stroll in the park and outside the estate. The wooden games and the lunch break at the Bistro la Poule de Vaux or the picnic, if necessary, can extend this programme by about 1 hour.
Pushchairs can be used on a stabilised path along the stable building. However, the access to the castle is still gravelled and it is strongly recommended that you bring a baby carrier in addition to your pushchair.
The presence of steps for access to all levels of the castle makes the interiors of the building inaccessible to pushchairs, but the stables and courtyards remain easily accessible.
Prams are stored in the castle's outbuildings in case of rain, in a room provided for this purpose.
The visit to the Château de Vaux was adapted in 2022 for people with reduced mobility and disabilities.
The castle's stables and main courtyard are accessible at ground level and the rooms have been progressively adapted to accommodate wheelchairs.
A tablet for visiting the non-accessible areas (ground floor and cellars of the castle) will be available at the reception desk.
This allows the discovery of the rooms and settings via a video walk-through in the non-accessible parts.
To come to the castle without a personal vehicle, it is possible to take a bus ticket on the Troyes-Chatillon sur Seine line from Troyes station. These tickets are on sale at the ticket office on arrival at the station.
Get off at the Fouchères stop and walk to the entrance of the castle. It will be possible to drive you to the courtyard free of charge with a company car. For this, please contact us on 03 25 40 17 47
